I Wish You Happiness – An alternative birthday card!
This is a sweet and girly birthday card! The color palette is lilac and purple, perfect for all those romantic girls of your life!
The card base is a simple craft color cardstock that gives a relaxed feel to the card. For the background we chose soft pattern papers that give this card a vintage look. We wanted to play with shapes, so we added two circles, a smaller and a bigger one. This way we created an interesting yet quiet background.
The focal point
The focal point is a beautiful stamp from Santoro London featuring one of their famous “mouthless” little girls. We decided to stamp it on a craft tag to match the card base. We embossed it with WOW embossing powder in black. That way we had a crisp and waterproof image ready to be colored. Then to color it, we used water colored pencils and blended them with a water brush. We used simple shading techniques to bring this adorable stamp to life! When using colored pencils on a craft paper you instantly get a distressed and soft result!
For the sentiment we went for a mix of techniques. First we stamped the “I wish you” with black in on the velum circle using mini alphabet stamps. Then we used a set of adorable alphabet dies to cut the word “Happiness” from a light purple paper to match the color palette of the card.
And that’s it! The card is ready! It is perfect for an alternative way to say happy birthday! But you can also use it for many other occasions! Whatever you want to say…just say it with a card!
