Cards I made using my own pattern papers!
Hello everyone!
After a short break I’m back to share with you one of my most favorite techniques! I got the idea watching a Kristina Wenrer video and I thought it was the perfect opportunity to use all of those little stamps from my stash that I have never used! Basically the technique is about creating a pattern using stamps and your favourite coloring method. By creating the pattern paper yourself you have the opportunity to make as simple or as busy as you like, to use the colours that you wish and to match it perfectly with your cards theme! Most of the times I like the result so much that I don’t want to cover it up with too many embellishments. So the pattern paper turns out to be the focal point of the card! I have four examples for you that I recently made.
The birthday card!
The first one is a birthday card. First I used my Fiskars Latte Love stamp set to create the background. I good tip is to start by stamping the bigger images first and then filling the gaps with the smaller ones. For a little more texture I used my VersaMark ink and I heat embossed them with WoW black embossing powder. Then I used my watercolour pencils to colour everything. Using a watercolour brush to blend everything makes it look more polished. Then all I did was to heat emboss my sentiment on strip pf black paper that I popped on foam adhesive for some extra dimension. And my card is ready!
The baby girl card!
For this card I used the exact same technique but this time I stamped baby related images. This time I made the pattern a little more plain because I wanted to add more embellishment on the sentiment. So I stamped, coloured and cut a cute bird with pink balloons and created my sentiment using my alphabet dies. Then I popped everything on to some foam adhesive and the card was done!
The Summer card!
The third card is the one you saw me creating on the video with the Simon Say Stamp July card kit! Click here for the Video or here for the Post to see how I made this summery card!
The baby boy card!
