Wedding card – Congrats – A “how-to” post with Video!
This is another post with a tutorial video on how to make a beautiful and modern wedding card! Who said wedding cards have to be all about white, pink and beige? Or floral and vintage? This card introduces hot red and a sketchy and fun doodle, perfect for young couples!
The background
As we already mentioned hot red is going to be the main color of this card. And since it is such a strong color we will keep it the only bright shade of the colour palette. Choose an off-white paper to pair it with. This a good way to mute down a little bit the intensity of a bright coloured pattern paper. For the card base choose craft cardstock to introduce a rustic feel to this card. Cover the front of the card base with the red pattern paper leaving a small border all around for the craft cardstock tp show through. Use tape adhesive to prevent any wrinkling that a liquid glue could cause.
The focal point
Then using a metal die and your die-cutting machine cut a heart-shaped window to the top part of the off-white panel. You have now created a perfect placement for the focal point! With a smaller heart die cut another heart. This will be the background of the focal point. Use a sketchy wedding stamp to heat emboss. A cute bride and groom doodle is perfect for this card. Red embossing powder will match perfectly the color of the background. With a white gel pen color the wedding dress. And the focal point is ready to be placed in the window that you created earlier!
The sentiment
For the sentiment use an alphabet die set to spell the word “congrats” out of red cardstock. Then use a fine tip glue and some tweezers to put everything in place. It looks even sketchier if you don put the letters on a straight line. And the card is ready. It is definitely not a classic wedding card, very fresh and modern that will for sure make a statement! We hope you enjoyed this post and got you inspired!
